Bushbalm 'skin dictionary'
Ingrown hair and razor burn
An ingrown hair occurs when a shaved or tweezed hair grows back into the skin. It can cause inflammation, pain and tiny bumps in the area where the hair was removed. Ingrown hair is a common condition that results from hair removal.
Dark spots and hyperpigmentation
Dark spots refer to patches of skin that are darker in color than the skin surrounding it. The contrast of light and dark patches creates the appearance of an uneven skin tone. This is a very common skin concern.
Keratosis Pilaris
Keratosis Pilaris, also known as KP or "chicken skin", is a very common skin condition that creates small, hard bumps on the surface of the skin. These bumps form as a result of an excess buildup of keratin; keratin is a protein that is part of the skin and hair. Currently, it is unknown what causes this buildup in the first place. Nonetheless, the extra keratin clogs the pores and causes a bumpy rash to appear. KP is commonly found on the upper arms, thighs, chest, elbows, and the tush.
Razor burn and bumps
Razor burn is the result of an unpleasant interaction between the razor blade, body hair, and skin. The symptoms of razor burn include; redness, irritation, discomfort, and stinging.
What is the shelf life of products?
All of our oils have a 6 month shelf life once the have opened, and 12 months unopened. This all depends on the conditions though. If you are keeping Bushbalm oils in a light filled room, the sun will likely speed up the life of the oil.
Can I apply deodorant after applying the oil?
Yes of course. Just ensure the oil has been absorbed fully before applying your deodorant. We suggest you wait anywhere from 30 seconds to 3 minutes.
