What's the difference between a chemical vs physical exfoliant?

Chemical exfoliants are skincare products that use acids or enzymes to dissolve and remove dead skin cells. On the other hand, physical exfoliants contain granules, beads or particles to scrub away dead skin cells

 How does this formula differ from Bushbalm Exfoliating Sugar Scrubs?

Our scrubs are considered 'physical', with the sugar serving as the exfoliant. The Roller Rescue Soothing Serum is a chemical exfoliant in which the AHA and BHA act as exfoliants.

Is the Roller Rescue safe for sensitive skin?

Yes, we created the Roller Rescue to be safe on sensitive skin. However, we recommend a routine that helps build up tolerance over time.

Can I use Roller Rescue before or after hair removal?

Yes, but we recommend waiting 24 hours because these acids can irritate freshly treated or sensitive skin. Waxing and shaving both involve the removal of the top layer of skin cells, which can leave the skin more vulnerable and exposed. This allows the skin to heal and reduces the risk of adverse reactions.

Does this product exfoliate the skin?

AHA (Alpha Hydroxy Acid) and BHA (Beta Hydroxy Acid) are both chemical exfoliants that work by breaking down the bonds between dead skin cells, leading to their removal and revealing fresher, smoother skin underneath.

What's the difference between AHA and BHA?

AHA: Derived from natural sources like fruits. Glycolic Acid is water-soluble from sugarcane and primarily works on the skin surface to exfoliate dead skin cells, promote cell turnover and help improve skin texture and tone.

BHA: Derived from salicylic compounds, a lab-made version of the naturally occurring substances in plants like willow bark. Oil-soluble, can penetrate into the pores and work both on the skin's surface and inside the pores which is excellent for those ingrown hairs as it helps unclog pores and reduce breakouts.

Does Roller Rescue work for dark spots?

It can help, but it takes time and consistent use to see visible results. Patience is key when using AHA/BHA for dark spots, as the gradual exfoliation and skin renewal process occurs.

Is this product safe for daily use or only periodically?
